This year Michigan State University Counseling Center (MSUCC) celebrates 64 years of service and 54 years of training. We continue our tradition of training in the fundamental modalities of professional psychology utilizing a Practitioner-Scholar model with an emphasis on "multiple ways of knowing." Training occurs primarily through interactive seminars, supervision and mentoring that selectively attends to empirically based treatments (cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic), interpersonal and feminist therapy techniques, assessment, research, and community engagement (e.g., outreach and consultation) in the context of a multicultural environment. Adherence to the American Psychological Association’s Code of Ethics and relevant state laws are woven into all aspects of training.
